About the Franchisee
Stephen Eppling is a native Texan who became an Athenian after receiving his MBA from the UGA Terry College of Business in 2022. He, along with his wife, Hannah, and their two children, Colette and Everett, immediately fell in love with the Classic City and decided to plant permanent roots here. After 10 years in corporate marketing, Stephen felt a strong desire to give back to his community through entrepreneurship. Through Preservan’s wood rot repair services, he has found deep fulfillment in the value the Preservan team provides to his neighbors by offering them an affordable and long-lasting alternative to replacement.
Outside of work, Stephen is taking full advantage of what the community has to offer, including partnering with Historic Athens, coaching his kids’ sports teams, and attending events like Athfest and Twilight.

Rotting and deterioration without treatment will spread, creating opportunities for infiltration from pests, air, or water, resulting in further structural damage.
There are several different signs to look for if you’re concerned about wood rot
that include signs of paint damage, any bubbling, cracking, blistering, or flaking of the wood are big warning signs. If you’re still not sure, Preservan
