Charleston Wood Rot Repair FAQs

Quality resin repairs should be completed in five steps:

  • Step one, remove soft wood.

  • Step three, fill the area with moldable epoxy clay.
  • Step four, sand and blend repaired area.
  • Step five, apply a UV protectant to the repaired area.

Our wood rot repair process will vary depending on the condition of the property. Typically, our EpoxyTechs can complete an average size project in just 36 hours!

If you think there are termites in your property’s wood rot, it’s still necessary to get it confirmed by an exterminator.

Unfortunately, we don’t do termite removal as part of our wood rot repair process, so we kindly ask that you get them removed before your appointment with us.

Repair costs can vary but most jobs cost less than $1000, with the average repair being a fraction of the cost versus replacement!

Rotting and deterioration without treatment will spread, creating opportunities for infiltration from pests, air, or water, resulting in further structural damage.

There are several different signs to look for if you’re concerned about wood rot that include signs of paint damage, any bubbling, cracking, blistering, or flaking of the wood are big warning signs.

If you’re still not sure, Preservan gives free estimates, and we can tell you whether or not your building’s structure has wood rot.
